Hello Nightingales, Friends and Visitors!

Welcome to Nursing Wit and Wisdom! My name is Audrey Friedman. I have been A RN for over 37 years and have enjoyed a nursing career full of great education and amazing opportunities.

I have met so many people... nurses, physicians, healthcare members and patients and their families that have been inspirational to me and changed my practice into a living, breathing, changing entity. I look back at my first year of nursing and can hardly believe the roads I have travelled and the opportunities and people I have had the great privilege of meeting.

During my career, I have had a number of roles including staff nurse, clinic nurse, preceptor, educator, clinical coordinator, orientation development, education council, case management, legal nurse consultant, community speaker and mentor. And in 2015, I had the pleasure of becoming a Clinical Scholar with training from the Colorado Center for Nursing Excellence.

In reality, I believe that all nurses are all parts of these roles in various times during their day and week, in addition to their career!

Nursing has been very good to me, in ways that are more than just having a great job. I have grown in my personal journey in ways that have inspired my knowledge, learning, compassion, caring, spirituality and my own self care.

You do amazing work, Nightingales.

And, if you haven't heard it recently,

you are amazing people!

It is from my cumulative journey of experiences and learning that I have designed this site for you. I have long had a bucket list of ideas to help connect with other nurses.

In the past, I have created books, been a mentor and a speaker and sought ways to help nurses stay connected and inspired, right at the bedside.

This site is my labor of love and inspiration for all nurses, students and colleagues who seek to stay inspired, connected and excited about their work.

Everyone has a bad day. Our work is consumed with body fluids, clinic challenges and people not at their best. But, that is just a day, a moment.

In our hearts, we have the opportunity to affect a person's life in great ways that start with understanding, connection and caring.
